The Year 3 children have had a busy start to the year and have been learning all about the weather and how it changes.
Literacy
In Literacy we have been writing and performing weather reports. We have also been learning to recite some weather poems and perform them with actions.

We were also lucky enough to have a trip to Saltwell Park to celebrate the end of the National Year of Reading. It was a great day out with plenty of surprises....
Numeracy
In Numeracy we have been partitioning numbers into H, T and U and learning our 2,5 and 10 times tables. We are now starting to make graphs and charts on paper and on the computer using the data collected in our science lessons.
Science
In Science have been finding out about healthy eating and all of the different food groups. The dental nurse came to visit us and showed us how to look after our teeth properly.
Topic
As well as our weather reports we have been studying extreme weather and the damage it can cause to communities. We have also been working hard to create seasonal pictures and make wind powered toys.
Art and Design
We recently worked with an Artist to create some fantastic glass paintings for the South Asian SAMA festival at the Baltic this October. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and worked really hard to create their masterpieces.
