Last week, Year 5 pupils returned from break to find a mystery bag in the classroom. After realising that the bag didn't belong to anybody in the room, we decided to look inside and hunt for clues to suggest who the owner was. We found some very unusual items inside: a map of the Antarctic, newspaper cuttings about explorers, warm clothing, flight details and husky food. After lots of discussion, we came to the conclusion that the bag belonged to a missing Artic explorer. We decided to write letters detailing our find, so that people could locate his whereabouts. The missing explorer has since been found safe and well, all thanks to the excellent detective work and fantastic writing of our Year 5 class!
