So far, we have written brilliant adventure stories based around the Micheal Morpurgo book 'Why the Wales Came' and we are currently investigating the Titanic disaster. We are particularly enjoying researching key facts about the vessel through documentaries and the Internet.
We hope to find out lots more over the coming weeks, and our working hard to put work together for our end of term showcase assembly on Friday 30th March. If you have any ideas or questions linked to our theme, please leave a comment below!

As you know, Mrs Pallent and Mrs Dickinson are always looking to hand out their special points to children who do lots of writing at home. But sometimes it can be hard to think of things to write about. Well from now on, there will be a weekly competition on the website for you to take part in and possibly win some fantastic prizes!!!
All you have to do is log on to the website every week and find the competition question. It could be a story, a poem or even a recount of something you have done. You can either type your entry on the computer or write it by hand but either way you will be in with a chance of earning those special points. The best entry may also win a star prize!

Some of Brighton's children got a chance to become soldiers and marched off to France to fight against Hitler's German forces. Many children got a chance to become members of the band and there were even some excellent swing dancers amongst the Key Stage 2 audience.
We also had our very own Brighton Avenue newsreaders in the form of Akeesha and Max who did a brilliant job of retelling the events throughout the Second World War. A great time was had by all of the children (and the staff) and we are looking forward to learning more about this historic period of British history.
Today we went to the local park to use observed evidence to help answer a question (this is Level 2 target in Science), can a bigger force slow you down or make you go faster?
Back in the classroom we remembered Science words to help label diagrams: change direction, push, pull, go faster, slow down, stop.
