We are eagerly awaiting photographs and information about the cat and dog the children chose to sponsor. World Kitchen Update

Since our Tesco visit, we have been working hard on our theme. The children in the afternoon group used some of the foods from Tesco to make a delicious apple crumble and to design and make their own individual fruit smoothies. We have created sketches and computer drawings of some of the foods we are using, as well as finding out about where they come from within the world.

With the morning group, we have been focusing on Traditional Tales. Our favourite so far has been The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We have been looking at different versions of the story, and re-enacting the story using puppets and role play. We are writing about the characters in the story, and thinking about how we could write different endings. We have been using 2D shapes to design a house for the troll, or a new bridge for the goats.

World Kitchen

Our theme this term is World Kitchen. We are finding out all about food - from healthy eating and food from other countries to customs and beliefs relating to foods around the world.

We are going to use what we find out to arrange and prepare a special meal to share.

To help us discover where some of our food comes from, we went to our local Tesco's store. We had an interesting time and we even brought back some of the food to taste.
