Y2 Forces and Movement
Today we went to the local park to use observed evidence to help answer a question (this is Level 2 target in Science), can a bigger force slow you down or make you go faster?
Back in the classroom we remembered Science words to help label diagrams: change direction, push, pull, go faster, slow down, stop.
A big thank you to the fab 3 Mums who helped with our investigation!

The Wonderful Early Years & KS1 Christmas Play!!
Whoops A Daisy Angel performance with Nursery, Reception, Y1 and Y2 was amazing!!!
It brought a tear to my eye and even made me giggle!!
Remember the Early Years party is Monday and the KS1 party is Wednesday

Y2 Green Fingers!!!
Thank you all again for coming to our Class Assembly. We hope you learnt a lot about forces and fire and heard about the fun we had!!
Our new theme is Green Fingers and I know I spoke to most of you at Parents Evening to explain we will be growing different things and finding out about local habitats. We started our investigation by observing the plants and animals around our school. We were all very excited to find a snail and a centipede!!!!
The points are adding up for the school competition so keep hearing your child read and sign their reading record book every night!! Thank you! Mrs Kevan and Mrs Conway.

Y2 Gateshead and Newcastles Burning!!!!
Dear Parents/Carers,
Wow!!! We had an AMAZING trip to the Quayside on Tuesday to learn all about the Fire of Gateshead and Newcastle on 6th October 1854. Thank you for supporting our trip!
If you would like to learn all about this fire and the Great Fire of London in 1666 please come to our Class Assembly on Friday 18th February at 9 o'clock!!

Numbers Count
Some of our Year 2 children have had the chance to take part in a highly exciting numeracy programme to strengthen their maths skills. Four children work with Miss Hind, one at a time on a daily basis for 12 weeks. They play lots of maths games and learn to apply their skills in a range of situations. The lesson are fun and very practical and the children have made really good progress. A new group of children will start the programme in January.
